Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are essential for the site to work. Others, such as analytics, are optional and are only used with your consent.

Our approach

We want to measure how the site is used without tracking you before you agree. When you first visit, we load Google Analytics in a privacy-protective "denied" state using Google Consent Mode. No analytics cookies are placed on your device unless you choose Accept on our cookie banner.

If you Decline, Google Analytics still runs but sets no cookies and collects only anonymous, aggregated measurement that cannot identify you. Either way, you are in control.

Strictly necessary storage

  • spg-cookie-consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies so we do not ask again. It is kept in your browser's local storage, is not sent to any server, and stays until you clear your browser data.

Analytics cookies, only set after you Accept

  • _ga — set by Google Analytics to tell visitors apart. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_RLDF34HEMF — set by Google Analytics to keep session state. Expires after 2 years.

These are only placed once you click Accept. We use them to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. We do not use analytics data to identify individuals, and we do not use it for advertising.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. Clear this site's cookies and storage in your browser settings and the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit, letting you choose afresh.

More information

For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy. To learn more about cookies and how to manage them in any browser, see the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or aboutcookies.org.
